Internet marketing is definitely a difficult thing to master, especially effective internet marketing. It can definitely be very time consuming, but it’s something you should always do whenever building a new website in order to get the best results as quickly as possible. The other thing about internet marketing is you need to do it right. And this guide will show you some great internet marketing strategies, and how to preform them in the right way for the best possible results.

Backlinks

Backlinks are a key part to a website, and it’s pagerank. They are links that point to your website/domain. They will not only help boost your website traffic, but will have a large influence on your pagerank. The reason that pagerank is so important is because that highly influences where your website is listed in the Google search engine. If a website has a pagerank of 8 or 9 for example, they will most likely be listed higher in a search engine then a website with a pagerank of 1 or 2. So build up as many backlinks as possible.

Building up backlinks is easy, but like most internet marketing strategies, it is very time consuming. You can use social bookmarking websites to post a portion of your article and tell viewers that if they want to see more, they can click a link to visit your site. You can also buy links. Whether it’s in a directory, or on another website, buying links is also very effective because it’s quite easy, not very time consuming, and the only downside is you need to spend money. The most popular way to build backlinks is link exchanges. This is where you post someones link on your site, and they post your link on their site. You can find people to do link exchanges in many places such as forums, chat rooms, via email, etc.

Getting Indexed by Search Engines

Getting indexed by different search engines is a very important part when building a website. It can be done in a three main ways. One is to submit your website to the search engine manually. I find that very time consuming, but very effective. For example, on Yahoo, on the bottom of their homepage, you will see a link that says “Suggest a Site”. Go there and submit your website(s). It will get you indexed by yahoo quickly and effectively. Another very easy way to get indexed by search engines is mass search engine submitters. In Google, search “Search Engine Submission” and you will see many different tools that will submit your website to tons of search engines on the web to get you indexed quickly and save time.

Content

Content is key especially to newer sites. The more content you have, the better. Especially once indexed by Google, every time Google sweeps your site, which is normally once every two or three weeks, they will index your posts and content, leading to more potential traffic. Also, content does help your pagerank. If you don’t update your website for a year, chances are, your pagerank would stay the same or potentially drop. You need to update your blog or website as frequently as possible.

Yes, you can always hire someone to write your content for you. But why not save a few bucks, especially in touch economic times, and post some content yourself? It’s easy. Honestly, just write about what’s on your mind, and related to your sites topics. It doesn’t even need to be more then a paragraph. As long as you are updating your site with new content, that’s all that matters. Of course, the longer the content the better, but new content is new content.

A Great Domain Name

One very important thing to have is a good domain name for your website. Don’t just be satisfied with the first domain you find. Search, search some more, and search some more. Keep searching until you find the perfect domains name. The main reason why the domain name is so important is because you want a new viewer to remember your domain so he or she will return to your website. Also, if you have a keyword oriented domain name, it makes it easier for Google to recognize what your website is about, especially when a site is new, and has very little content on it.
