BargainDomains.com: Anxious for Success
Francois of Domaining.com has launched yet another great website, BargainDomains.com, that allows users to list their domain names for sale. And the best part about it is it’s completely free. At first glance, you may be a tad bit distracted by the eye-popping colors, but Francois definitely succeeded in a motto that I am a strong believer in, image is everything. A good looking website is the first and one of the most important qualities of a website, because that’s what every viewer conciously processes right away, before they decide whether to scroll down and learn more about the website. And Bargain Domains has quite the nice, yet eye-catching look to it.
There are some general rules to the website and listing your domain names. But to be honest, I don’t think these rules should discourage many domainers from listing their domain names, unless they feel as the the maximum price requirement is not enough, which you can decide for your self about below:
- Any domain name listed must be evaluated to be worth at least $500 by Valuate.com.
- Domain names can be priced at a maximum of 30% of the evaluation price (minimum asking price of $100).
- Bargain Domains takes a 15% commission of the final sale price.
- All domain names listed must be .com domains.
- Domain names cannot contain hyphens, numbers, or be IDN’s.
Personally, I see this as the perfect website for your average domainers, who either don’t want to spend a lot on a domain name, or for those just coming into the industry. When someone begins domaining, they want to be sure that they aren’t being screwed over by a seller who is selling them a domain name for way too much money, and with Bargain Domains, they can be assured that all of the domain names listed are a maximum of 30% of their estimated appraisal price from Valuate (which I find to be a useful domain evaluation tool).
I also wanted to talk a little bit about Francois’ useful techniques for marketing the website. With a huge list of subscribers, so many of which are domainer’s who receive the daily Domaining.com email, Francois sent out a mass email talking about his new site. I’ve heard a few people criticize this, but personally, I think Francois couldn’t have been smarter. He has a source of communication between himself and his exact target market, so why not make use of it?
As you can tell from the title, my opinion is that Bargain Domains is just anxious for success. And with the ways in which we have seen Francois succeed with Domaining.com, I’m sure many can agree when I say that Bargain Domains will in all likelihood be a success.
