I discussed in an article a couple of weeks ago about how I had submitted some of my domains to the DOMAINfest live auction hosted by Moniker. And yet, even though when I submitted my domains, the site said I would be contacted within 2 business days, many weeks fly by and no representative has contacted me. I decided to dig a little bit deeper into the situation to find out whether it was just my submission, or whether they just can’t get their act together.

A couple of domainers I know had also submitted names to Moniker. DOMAINfest is a very big, respected domain auction, so a lot of domainers worldwide are submitting their domains. Every person I talked to who submitted domains to the auction hadn’t gotten a response. Just for the record, I only talked with 7 or 8 of my friends. Most of whom were getting aggravated with Moniker’s lack of communication.

About 2 weeks ago, I decided to give Moniker a phone call, and ask them what in the world was going on there. When I got connected with a sales representative, all he could say was they can’t guarentee when we would get the response (which contradicted the website that said all submissions will be responded to within 2 business days of the time they were submitted). Once I brought this point of contradiction up to the representative, he got a little “pissy” with me, and told me he would ask his manager about that later, but there was nothing he could do about it.

After all this, whether it’s DOMAINfest, or whether it’s Moniker, or whether it’s both of them, they clearly can’t get their acts together and respond to submissions as they promise to on their websites. This happens to be one of my pet peeves. When a website says they will do something within a certain time limit, or even a person says they will, and it is not done within that time frame. Until this situation clears up as to who is at fault for lack of communication with domain submissions, I along with other Moniker customer’s won’t be at their happiest Feel free to submit your comments, and whether you have experienced the same problems with your submissions, or problems with Moniker.
