Karma With GoDaddy Article and Why GoDaddy Sucks

I just experienced karma when writing an article I was started a couple of minutes ago about how I really liked GoDaddy and wondered why people dislike it so much (based on a poll by DNKitchen.com). So after writing my intro which you can read below, I took a little break to work on one of my upcoming “eco” websites. AND OF COURSE, my domain I am using for the site, which is registered at GoDaddy, starts forwarding to my primary company website, Asmro.com. Just read my intro to my article I was writing, and I will share my new feelings after it:

“Personally, I am quite the fan of GoDaddy.com, and think they are one of the best registrars on the internet. After reading a survey done on DNKitchen.com, the popular vote for the worst registrar on the internet was GoDaddy. I was absolutely shocked, especially considering all my past great experiences I have had with them. So I decided, maybe I just don’t get it, and some readers can fill me in on what’s so bad about GoDaddy. I have always been satisfied with them, and the services they have provided for me and my domain names, especially their customer support.”

So I call GoDaddy, and the customer support representative couldn’t have treated me any worse. She said that when I changed the URL forwarding settings for a totally different domain, it somehow affected this domain. So while stalling her, I went and disabled the forwarding for my domain, and what do you know, NOTHING HAPPENS. Then I told her about how I just changed the settings and disabled URL forwarding, and nothing happened. She says there is nothing she can do, and I need to be a lot more patient then I am being for the system to do it’s thing.

I can’t believe how I was treated. Now, this isn’t to say GoDaddy customer support is bad by any means. Infact, this has been the only representative who has been bad to me. But, of course, look at the timing of this. Talk about karma :) Anyways, I would still love to get your good and bad opinions on GoDaddy, as well as comments about my experience I just had.
