Kentucky Seizes Gambling Sites Domains

A lot of the internet gaming industry is not very happy with Kentucky, as they have tried to seize 141 domain names from online gambling sites. They sort of succeeded as of about 2 weeks ago when a Franklin County Circuit judge in Kentucky declared the order that gave the Commonwealth of Kentucky the power to take away all of 2 of the 141 site’s domains, LuckyPyramidCasino.com and PyramidLounge.com.

For these sites to regain ownership and control of the domain names that Kentucky seized, they must input a software that will not allow any Kentucky residents to access their site. If they don’t input such a software, they could risk losing their entire site and business. Now my question to Kentucky is why in the world would they be so gambling-friendly with all the horse racing that takes place there, but not so gambling-friendly with internet sites, such as these that they seized.

Many lawyers are opposing Kentucky saying they don’t have the jurisdiction to take away their domains, as Kentucky is gaining more and more different domains from these gambling sites. We will wait to see how many more domains Kentucky will continue to seize, as well as how many sites can regain control of their domains.

I personally believe that Kentucky has absolutely no right to take these sites domains away from them by any means, and that all domains that Kentucky has seized should be returned immediately. Please feel free to comment all of your feelings about this case, and how you feel it will affect the different sites that had their domain’s seized.
