Interview With Bill Twomey (A.K.A. Bill) from NamePros

NamePros.com is by far my favorite domaining forum out there. I consider it to be the safest and friendliest forum around. It is definitely my preferred forum. I am a member at plenty of other domaining forums, but this one just blows the rest away. And so when I got the opportunity to have a one-on-one interview with the ever so famous, Bill, from NamePros, I jumped right at it. Here is the interview below:

I know at NamePros everyone calls you Bill, but for the record, what is your full name?

My real name is Bill Twomey.

What’s your educational background like?

I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Information Systems at Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Would you consider yourself to be a domainer?

Yes, I would. I do not do it full time, but I do consider it to be a hobby of mine. I always find myself doing something with domains.

When did you first get started domaining?

Back in 2003, when I was 15.

So I know you said you always find yourself doing something with domains. What other websites do you operate with the those domains that you own?

One of them is my link directory, Y1V.net, which has been running for about three years now. It’s a free webmaster directory and I’ve collected over 12,000 links. I also run a domaining blog at domainingblog.wordpress.com, which I update a few times a month.

How did you first become involved with NamePros? Were you involved with NamePros when it first began?

At the time I wasn’t. NamePros was first started back in 2003 by RJ. A friend of mine referred me to NamePros in 2005. When I joined, it only had 13,000 members.

Would you consider NamePros to be the safest, most reliable free forum on the web?

I consider NamePros to be a great forum. But it only has become a great forum because of it’s members. We have great members who are very aware of how we run the forum and keep and extra eye out. By doing that, they report to us and we can take the appropriate action.

Is NamePros your primary job? What is your job title at NamePros?

I would consider NamePros to be a hobby :) And I am the administrator.

Now, I have always wondered how in the world you guys manage to do the live auctions on NamePros with such a great efficiency. Could you explain?

The Youtube video you will see below says it all:

Okay, well thank you Bill for your time. That just about wraps up the interview. Any last words for the viewers?

If you haven’t checked out NamePros yet, give it a try. I am sure you’ll love it!

Well, I would like to take this time to briefly thank Bill for his time, once again. I hope all the viewers enjoyed finding out a little more about Bill. If you have any questions for him, or have any feelings about NamePros, please feel free to comment them here!
