Why Do I Blog?
In one of my most recent articles about Twitter.me, I published some misleading information based on missing research, which I later revised. I received one comment stating that the only reason I wrote the article was for the traffic. This is why I think it would be appropriate for me to address and clarify exactly why I blog.
Domaining is on of my hobby’s. I domain in my free time. I enjoy it and am often successful at it. DNUnderground started out just like any other one of my blog’s. It was a blog that I’d write a few articles on, and see how I like it. If I didn’t like it, I would’ve just sold it alike to most of my other blogs. But as it turns out, blogging on DNUnderground.com became a regular routine that I really enjoyed. It gave me a chance to address issues in the domain industry, express my opinions, and talk about my personal experiences.
You’ll see that DNUnderground isn’t loaded with ads. I do acknowledge that it has a few ads to make ends meet. But every website needs a small amount of funding to be reinvested into the website.
I do not blog on DNUnderground for the low income it produces or the traffic it receives. I blog on DNUnderground for the sole purpose of having fun. It’s something I really enjoy. Sometimes my articles may be wrong, or debatable, but that’s what blogging is all about. You can interact with other’s in your industry while getting a chance to get your voice to really be heard.
Yes, most of my websites are made for the sole purpose of profit, but not DNUnderground. I’d appreciate any comments, but I wanted to get a chance to express my reasons for blogging. I also apologize for the misleading information in the Twitter.me article, I was missing some key research. Thanks!
It’s Tweet.me not Twitter.me and make ends meet should be meat
Haha, thanks Chef. Sorry for the misspellings. I actually wrote this on my blackberry and emailed it to myself to post. I guess I really should have proof read it some more before posting it.
“and make ends meet should be meat”
Actually Chef that is most likely not correct.
Which expression is correct is a controversial topic but overwhelming evidence
points to “make ends meet” as the correct term.
Some thought “make ends meat” came from hard times when there wasn’t
enough meat to go into the sausage.

Some highlights from above link:
“‘To make (both) ends meet is to live within one’s means, but what are the ends in this instance? Most probably the term comes from accountancy where “meet” used to be an adjective meaning “equal” or “balanced”. The end was the end of the financial year in which both profit and loss accounts had to be balanced: the ends had to be met.’”
“According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the phrase originally referred to making the two ends of the year meet. (Think fiscal years.) French has a similar phrase, ‘joindre les deux bouts de l’an.’”

Paul Brian’s book: “Common Errors In English” says the correct expression
is “make ends meet”.

And see this:

Excerpts:
“…though we understand immediately that to make ends meet is to have enough money to live on. The oldest example I can find is from Thomas Fuller’s The History of the Worthies of England of about 1661: “Worldly wealth he cared not for, desiring only to make both ends meet;”
“It’s often said that it’s from bookkeeping, in which the total at the bottom (“end”) of the column of income must at least match that at the bottom of the expenditure column if one is not to be living beyond one’s income…”
“…their understanding of the phrase was that it came from tailoring or dressmaking, in which the amount of cloth available might only just be sufficient to allow the garment to wrap completely around the body and so make the ends meet”

Here’s a silly joke I remember based on this expression and which is a play on the word “meet”:
If you can’t make both ends meat, make one vegetable.
Good points. Blogging is all about expressing your opinions and having your readers give there opinion on your articles or posts. You did the right thing by being transparent with your readers about the misleading information on the Tweet.me article. Keep it up.
